Our Story

I first met Carsyn on December 3rd, 2016. I had gone to a night festival organized by the University of Ottawa, held at Camp Fortune, to meet up with some old tree planting buddies.
To this day, neither of us remember how we were first introduced, or the initial topic of conversation, but we do both remember spending the night talking each others ears off. As the festival was ending and the shuttle buses returning to our campus were nearly full, I arrived on the bus to find Carsyn had saved me a seat next to her.
We spoke the entire way home and as we arrived on campus Carsyn asked me a familiar question; “Are you skiing tomorrow?” I immediately said yes, and that we should do a few runs together, she agreed.
Carsyn and her friends were members of the Ottawa Ski Club which organized weekly party buses to and from Tremblant. This was the first I had heard of this club, and I was too late to buy one of the long sold-out tickets.
I figured if I showed up early and was first on the bus, no one would suspect me of not having a ticket. I was right. I saved Carsyn a seat next to me and we continued where we left off the night before. I don’t remember much about the skiing that day, only that I had to see her again. Getting on that bus was the best decision I’ve ever made.
