Carsyn’s Hometown Episode!
A few of our favourite places to stay, dine and explore during the wedding weekend.
Where to stay?A limited number of rooms have been reserved at Hotel PhilCo for our wedding weekend. We recommend booking accommodations early, as availability is limited and the block is expected to fill quickly.
To receive the preferred wedding rate, please email the hotel directly and mention you are booking for Carsyn’s wedding.
There are also many nearby Airbnb options available throughout the area for guests looking for additional flexibility or group accommodations.
For the most convenient location, we suggest searching within the Crystal Beach area, as it is close to the beach, restaurants and the wedding venue.
For guests looking for additional accommodation options, the Comfort Inn in Fort Erie is also located nearby and offers easy access to surrounding areas.
Additional Nearby Areas
For guests who would prefer to stay nearby while enjoying a larger city atmosphere, Niagara Falls is approximately 20 minutes away and offers a large variety of hotel options.
Buffalo, New York is only 15 minutes away. Buffalo Niagara International Airport is a convenient option for friends who are flying in.
Where to eat?A Fort Erie favourite for delicious American-style Italian comfort food. It also has a fun local tie as chef and owner Matty Mattheson, also known for his role in The Bear, is a Fort Erie local.
335 is approximately 10 minutes from Crystal Beach in Ridgeway. Great food, fun cocktails and a nice little area to check out.
Super easy, laid-back spot for coffee, smoothies or a light lunch. It is walkable from both the beach and Hotel Philco.
Also located in Ridgeway, Dario’s is a great option for delicious home-style Italian food.
Ted’s Hot Dogs (Buffalo)
If you're up for a little adventure, a trip across the border to Ted's Hot Dogs is well worth it. A longtime favourite of Carsyn's, this Buffalo classic is known for its simple menu of charbroiled hot dogs and old school milkshakes. In fact, it was the very first stop Carsyn made when the border reopened after COVID.
What to do?Visit Buffalo or Niagara Falls
Both Buffalo and Niagara Falls, CA are just a short drive from Fort Erie, making them ideal destinations for a day of sightseeing, dining, and exploring.
Fort Erie Beaches
If you want to avoid some of the crowds at Crystal Beach, head over to Crescent Beach like a true Fort Erie local.
Staying in Crystal Beach? There is a lovely little spa that within walking distance. Guests staying at PhilCo will receive 20% off services.
Niagara River Parkway
If you feel like a scenic drive or bike ride, this route toward Niagara Falls is truly beautiful. And if you’re passing through, stop and see Carsyn’s parents on your way. Fun fact? Winston Churchill described this drive as the “prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world.”
Old Fort Erie
Carsyn’s dad would be disappointed if she did not mention the Old Fort, a national historic site from the war of 1812.
Niagara-on-the-Lake Wineries
If you’re up for wine tasting, this area is worth the trip. One of our favourites is Henry of Pelham.
